      Top 10 IIT Colleges in India

      1. IIT Madras (Chennai)

      IIT Madras was established in 1959. IIT Madras has produced outstanding alumni who are serving the nation in a variety of fields. IIT Madras has world-class engineering facilities.

      In 2020, the institution received an NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) score of 85 percent.

      IIT Madras has a small campus with a central library, AEE Central Workshop, Central Electronics Centre, Central Glass Blowing Section, and so on. All of these amenities are like the icing on the cake.

      IIT Madras is putting 20 teraflop supercomputers on the line. It has a shopping centre, a gym, a swimming pool, food courts, and stadiums for cricket, hockey, football, and badminton.

      Residential facilities are available on campus for students and faculty. On campus, there are three banks: Canara Bank, ICICI, and SBI.

      The campus also has three temples: Ganapathi, Durga Peliamman, and Jalakanteshwara.

      2. IIT Delhi

      IIT Delhi was founded in 1961 in Hauz Khas, Delhi. The institute’s original name was the College of Engineering and Technology, but it was changed to IIT in 1963.

      The institute is situated in the heart of the nation’s capital, the nation’s capital. It is surrounded by notable structures such as the Qutub Minar and the Lotus Temple.

      IIT Delhi’s hostels are named after Indian mountain ranges, and the university is ranked fourth among the most prestigious in the country. Facilities:The Central Research Facility, Central Workshop, Nanoscale Research Facility, and DAILAB are all available at the institution.

      Within the IIT Delhi campus, there are two banks: SBI and Canara Bank.

      The campus has a hospital that is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. IIT Delhi also offers medical insurance up to 5 lakh rupees.There are numerous food courts on campus as well.

      3. IIT Bombay (Mumbai)

      IIT Bombay was founded in 1958. It is located in Mumbai’s Powai district. IIT Bombay was India’s first IIT. It was established with the assistance of foreigners. The UNESCO reserves arrived in the form of Roubles from the then-Soviet Union. IIT Bombay is the first point of interest for all JEE aspirants. This is demonstrated by the fact that 75 percent of qualifying candidates among the top 100 students chose IIT Bombay last year.

      IIT Bombay is well-known for its engineering programmes, but it also offers courses in philosophy and sociology. So, in addition to academics, Bombay has a vibrant culture.

      Facilities:There is a Central Library, Staff Club, Hospital, Guest House, Women’s Cell, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Estate Office, Travel Desk, and other facilities on campus.

      IIT Bombay is also known for its annual science and technology festival, Techfest. Every December, these programs are held. People from various cities and institutes have travelled to Bombay to present their science project or innovation.

      The Mood Indigo is IIT Bombay’s annual cultural festival. It is Asia’s largest cultural festival.

      4. IIT Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh)

      IIT Kanpur was established in 1959. This institute was founded as part of the Kanpur Indo-American Program.

      The library at IIT Kanpur houses approximately 3 lakh volumes and periodicals, with nearly 4500 new books and journals added each year.IIT Kanpur is a public research institute that is involved in a number of social and public-benefit initiatives. JEE Advanced 2018 exams were administered by IIT Kanpur.

      Facilities:IIT Kanpur has spent 71 percent of its annual budget on the institution.

      The institution’s placement rate is 95.8 percent. Its students’ average salary package is around 15 Lacks.

      IIT Kanpur’s overall NIRF score is 82.18 percent.

      The institute has a few laboratories, including Microwave Circuits Laboratory, RFID Laboratory, Nanotechnology Laboratory, Central Library, R&D Automation, and others.

      5. IIT Kharagpur (West Bengal)

      IIT Kharagpur is India’s oldest and most prestigious IIT. It was established in 1951. IIT Kharagpur’s campus encompasses 2100 acres. All of the amenities of a world-class university are available. Facilities: The campus has food courts, grocery stores, a market, a bank, and ATMs.

      The students have agreed to have their own mode of transportation on campus.

      The campus also has a guest house and a canteen for visitors.

      6. IIT Roorkee (Uttarakhand)

      IIT Roorkee (Uttarakhand) was formerly known as the University of Roorkee and Thomason College of Civil Engineering. It was founded in the year 1847. It is even more special because it is located in the spiritual land of Uttarakhand.

      There are 21 academic departments offering 11 Undergraduate, 1 Integrated Dual Degree, 61 Postgraduate, and various Doctoral programmes.

      Facilities:There are post offices, banks, and ATMs with 24-hour service. Furthermore, all sports facilities are available on campus.

      The campus has some lovely places to hang out.

      Within the campus, there is also a Railway Reservation Counter.

      7. IIT Guwahati (Assam)

      IIT Guwahati is India’s sixth oldest IIT. It was founded in Guwahati, Assam, in 1993. It is situated on the Brahmaputra River’s bank. Its location view will captivate you.

      The institute has quickly risen to become one of the top ten IITs in India. IIT Guwahati has an NIRF score of 69.7 percent. IIT Guwahati has 11 academic departments and ten research centres.

      There are grocery stores, tailor shops, cafés and restaurants, and salons on campus.

      8. IIT Hyderabad (Telangana)

      IIT Hyderabad was founded in 2008. It is the eighth and youngest Indian Institute of Technology. It has over 2600 students in total. There are 1,155 undergraduate students, 635 postgraduate students, and 1085 Ph.D. students.

      The institution’s overall NIRF score is 59.53 percent. Facilities:The campus encompasses 526 acres.

      The campus includes a central library, transportation, common dining, a café, a grocery store, a bank, and ATMs.

      IIT Hyderabad houses over 100 research laboratories.

      9. IIT Indore ( Madhya Pradesh)

      In the year 2009, the Indian government established IIT Indore.

      IIT Indore has a total student enrollment of over 1000 students. 85 percent of IIT BHU students earned an average salary of around 13 lakh. IIT Indore’s annual capital expenditure is 31 crores. According to NIRF, IIT Indore has a code of 79.8 percent.

      Facilities:The campus has excellent facilities. There is a vegetable shop, canteen, café, laundry services, an Amul parlour, and a salon on campus.

      On campus, there is a post office and a Canara Bank.

      There are three ATMs on campus. All of these ATMs are operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

      10. IIT BHU Varanasi

      Students travel from all over the world to gain admission to IIT BHU. IIT BHU is one of India’s oldest technical institutions. It was established in 1991.

      IIT BHU has over 5000 scholars who receive a world-class education. 97 percent of undergraduate students at IIT BHU used to receive an average starting package of around 13 lakh.

      The annual budget of IIT BHU is around 3 crores. This IIT’s teaching-learning and resource systems are quite advanced. IIT BHU is also known for its outstanding research. Faculties:NIRF gave IIT BHU an overall score of 62.5 percent.

      The campus encompasses 1400 acres. The institute has provided a fantastic 24-hour internet service to the campus.

      IIT BHU has one of India’s largest libraries.

      Basketball, tennis, badminton, swimming, and other sports are all available on campus.

      IIT BHU also has another facility. Students are permitted to bring their own bicycles or scooters to the institute.
