The Hyatt Regency Delhi is a hotel in New Delhi, India, that first opened its doors in 1983. It has 486 rooms and 51 suites. It is located in South Delhi’s Bhikaji Cama Place, near Chanakyapuri. Hyatt managed it until November 2020. The hotel is no longer affiliated with the Hyatt chain, but it still uses the Hyatt name. Asian Hotels (North) Ltd was founded in 1980 by three non-resident Indians, R S Saraf, R K Jatia, and Chaman Lal Gupta, along with Sushil Gupta and Shiv Jatia, their Indian Associates. The developers signed a 10-year franchise agreement with Hyatt International, and the new hotel became the chain’s first in India. The Asian Games in 1982 prompted the construction of the hotel. The Hyatt Regency Delhi first opened its doors in 1983.
On November 6, 2020, the hotel was no longer affiliated with Hyatt Hotels and declared bankruptcy in 2021.

The historic haveli, which was built in 1887 AD, was abandoned and in poor condition, requiring immediate conservation efforts to restore it to its former glory. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi declared the building dangerous after it developed severe dampness due to rising water levels on all floors. The ancient woodwork had weakened as a result of this, as well as natural ageing.
The rooms were disorganised and divided into smaller rooms to accommodate toilets, kitchens, and other amenities.
